The protagonist of the story, unaccompanied Hackett, who continues to come crossways failure tour he tries to fulfill his personal dreams amongst the commence-middle crime syndicate of Hollywood. He travels to California in confides of being able to discover a career as a movie conniption designer nevertheless he faces many problems along the way. tod has seen it as a quarrel to paint Hollywood, to expose the lower class of immigrants who are sorrowful and hire lost hope in accomplishing their dreams.\ntod locomote in love for his friend, Faye. While Miguel seductively dances with Faye, Tod sees Earle send off Miguel on the head with his club.
